Not all information is mandatory for making a purchase. We have marked mandatory information with the symbol (*) on our website. We will use your contact information to (i) process your purchase/orders and any returns, exchanges and complaints you may have relating to your purchase; and to (ii) communicate with you regarding your purchase and to answer and administer any questions or comments you may have regarding our products or services. The legal basis is that it is necessary to process your data in order for us to be able to fulfill our contractual obligations to you under the purchase agreement. We will retain your data for as long as necessary for this purpose. We may also process your contact details to keep you informed, via email, SMS, letters, telephone, WeChat, Whatsapp and other social media, of our special events or promotions. The legal basis is our legitimate interest of being able to market our products to our existing customers. Credit card details: If you make a purchase online and chose to pay by credit card, you will provide your credit card information on our website to finalize your purchase. Your credit card details will be protected using Stripe infrastructure. The legal basis is that the processing is necessary in order for us to be able to fulfill our contractual obligations to you under the purchase agreement. We will retain your data for as long as necessary for this purpose.
Previous purchases and returns: If you have signed up for an account we will store information regarding (i) your purchases and returns online, and (ii) your purchases and returns in physical stores, if you have provided your e-mail address to our personnel. Such information encompasses product, size, price and date of purchase. We will also store information regarding your recently viewed items. This will allow you to keep track of your purchases and returns, and recently viewed items, by logging into your personal account. The legal basis is our legitimate interest to provide you with the service of a personal account as requested by you when you signed up for the account. You may choose to deregister your account at any time. We will also save information on your contact details and previous purchases and returns during 36 months after the purchase to be able to administer returns and/or complaints. The legal basis is our legitimate interest to provide our customers with speedy and efficient service after the purchase.
If you make a purchase in one of our physical stores we may process your e-mail address in order to be able to send a digital receipt to you. We will only collect your email address and send you a digital receipt if this has been requested or accepted by you. This processing is based on our legitimate interest of being able to provide our customers with a digital receipt on a voluntary basis. We will retain your data for as long as necessary for this purpose.
You may sign up for membership by subscribing to the services provided by Rumi Kunst Instituut in accordance with the Membership Policy. The membership is completely voluntary and subscribing for membership is not a requirement for purchasing Rumi Kunst Instituut’s goods. When you subscribe to become a member, you will enter into an agreement with Rumi Kunst Instituut (the Membership Policy).

Contact details: When you purchase a product online, Rumi Kunst Instituut will process your contact details for the following purposes; (i) to process purchases/orders and returns, exchanges and complaints; (ii) to communicate with you regarding the purchases and to answer and administer any questions or comments that you may have regarding Rumi Kunst Instituut’s products or services. The legal basis is that the processing is necessary in order for us to be able to fulfill our contractual obligations to you under the purchase agreement. As a member you may also choose to save your credit card details for future purchases, for the purpose of speeding up the checkout the next time you shop. The legal basis for this processing is your consent. We will retain your data for as long as necessary for this purpose.
When you shop in Rumi Kunst Instituut’s physical stores, Rumi Kunst Instituut may collect and store information regarding (i) your clothing and shoe size, (ii) your clothing preferences (such as preferred colors and style) and (iii) other shopping preferences, provided that you have shared this information with Rumi Kunst Instituut’s personnel on a voluntary basis. Rumi Kunst Instituut may also store data regarding your purchases and returns in physical stores (product, size, price and date of purchase) if you have provided your e-mail address to Rumi Kunst Instituut’s personnel. This information is processed for the purpose of enhancing your future purchasing experience with Rumi Kunst Instituut and to provide customized service, which is part of Rumi Kunst Instituut’s membership service. If you have subscribed to one of our newsletters, we will process your name, email address and country for the purpose of sending out such newsletter. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest of being able to send our newsletter to individuals who have subscribed to receiving such newsletters. You are entitled to unsubscribe to our newsletter at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link included in each newsletter or by contacting customer service at hello@rumikunst.com. If you have contacted Rumi Kunst Instituut regarding a complaint, return or question, the e-mail or chat conversation will be stored for as long as it is necessary to administer your matter, including following up on the matter within 12 months. Depending on the nature of the matter for which you are contacting us, the legal basis may be that our processing is necessary for us to be able to fulfill our obligations under the purchase agreement or Membership Policy, or that we have a legitimate interest of being able to communicate with individuals who contact our customer service

When you place an order on rumikunst.com, you can chose to create an account or check out as a guest. If you chose to create an account, we will only store the information that you provide to your order such as shipping and billing address as well as email address. When creating the account you will be able to choose a password with which you can log in and view your order history and track your order. You can also register returns once logged in. If you do not create an account and instead check out as a guest, you can still track your order using the tracking number provided in the shipping confirmation email.
If you would like to delete an account you can also contact hello@rumikunst.com and the customer care team will assist you. If you create an account with us you can also chose to store a credit card for a future purchase. All information regarding your store credit cards can be changed and deleted when logging in to your account. Your details will be protected using Stripe infrastructure and will speed up your checkout the next time you shop.
By using the Website and/or placing an order on the Website, by telephone, e-mail or by live chat you confirm that you have read the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy, and that you accept them. Please make sure that you have read and understood the Terms and Conditions before you place an order. Before you place your order, you will be given the opportunity to review your selections, the information you have provided, the total price of your order and correct any input errors. Please note that products in your shopping bag are not reserved and may be purchased by other customers until you have placed the order at checkout and received the order confirmation email. Rumi Kunst Instituut’s goal is to describe the products at the Website as correctly as possible. However, please note that due to the color settings of your computer, the colors of the products shown in the pictures on the Website can differ somewhat from their actual colors. Rumi Kunst Instituut cannot be held responsible for any such discrepancy.
The prices and delivery costs shown on the Website include VAT. The prices and delivery costs shown on the Website may vary from time to time and Rumi Kunst Instituut is not bound by the price until Rumi Kunst Instituut has accepted the order by sending the shipping confirmation to you. The prices may also vary between the physical store and the Website. If you have placed an order and the price has changed before we have accepted your order (by sending you the shipping confirmation), we will notify you by e-mail about the price change and give you the option to place a new order with the new price or cancel the old order. If we are unable to contact you, your order will be cancelled. Rumi Kunst Instituut always reserves the right to cancel any order prior to our acceptance of the order. If we already have received payment for a cancelled order we will refund you the amount of the purchase. The refund is made using the same payment method you used at the purchase. Please also note that Rumi Kunst Instituut may cancel the order even if it has been accepted by Rumi Kunst Instituut under the condition that you realize or should have realized that the price information was incorrect. The delivery costs are shown in connection with the shipping methods at the checkout stage.
Personalised products through printing of initials cannot be returned or refunded. Once the order has been sent by the customer and confirmed by Rumi Kunst Instituut, the customer will be informed via an order confirmation email. Once the order is processed and accepted, the customer will receive a shipping confirmation email. Personalised items may be delivered in a time slot indicated on the site which may be longer than regular delivery slots. Because of the clearly personalized nature of personalised products and the fact that they are produced specifically for the customer, they cannot be returned, refunded or exchanged. Similar, the customer does not have the right to cancel the order.
The following payments are accepted.
— Credit cards
Payment can be made by the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club and American Express. The purchases made with Visa and Mastercard are verified by a secure code. Please note that your card is debited with the purchase amount once you place the order. We do our best to make the Website as secure as possible. All credit card transactions on the Website are processed using Stripe, a secure online payment gateway that encrypts your card details in a secure host environment. Payment will be debited and cleared from your account once you place the order. You confirm that the credit card that is being used is yours or that you have been specifically authorized by the owner of the credit card to use it. All credit card holders are subject to validation checks and authorization by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to authorize payment to Rumi Kunst Instituut, your order will be cancelled. We are not responsible for any charges or penalties which may be imposed by the payment provider as result of payment being processed in respect of your order.
— Paypal
When selecting the PayPal option, you will be directed to the PayPal site to “Log In” and review the amount shown before clicking “Pay Now”. Once this transaction is complete, you will then return to the Website.
— Stored Credit Cards
At Checkout you can chose to save your credit card for future purchases if you are logged in to your Rumi Kunst Instituut account. Your details will be protected using Stripe and will speed up your checkout the next time you shop.
— Gift Cards
When placing an order using a gift card as payment, the order can only be shipped to the same country as to where the gift card was issued. Rumi Kunst Instituut are unable to change the currency of the gift card, and it is always country specific. Gift cards purchased online cannot be used in store, and gift cards purchased in store cannot be used online. Gift cards are valid one year from the date when they were purchased.
— Shipping methods
We offer different shipping methods to meet your needs as further specified when you check out. Dispatch of orders may take up to 7 business days but we aim to dispatch all orders within 24 hours during weekdays, or 1-2 business days during sales periods. Please note that delivery times are provided as guidelines only, and commence from the date of dispatch. The delivery times do not take into account possible delays caused by payment authorization and/or stock availability. If Rumi Kunst Instituut fails to deliver within 30 days, you may have the right to cancel the purchase.
Your order will be delivered by POST NL or DHL PARCEL to the shipping address you have indicated.
All orders are fully traceable on the Website by logging in to My account. Click “My Orders” and fill in the tracking number for updated information about your shipment.
— First-time order policy
For security purposes, Rumi Kunst Instituut reserves the right to ship first-time orders to the cardholder's verified billing address or work address. To avoid delays in receiving your order, please make sure to provide the correct billing and shipping information associated with your credit/debit card when placing an order.
— Withdrawal
You are entitled to withdraw your purchase or exchange your product by submitting or sending notice thereof to Rumi Kunst Instituut within 14 days of the date on which you have received the product. The notice may be sent in different ways. Preferably, you can use our return form provided together with the delivery. Please send the notification to our address Alkmaardermeer 41, 3068 KL Rotterdam or e-mail it to hello@rumikunst.com. Please note that you of course do not need to use the special forms but may send us a letter or an e-mail to the above-referenced mailing and e-mail addresses including information that you will withdraw or exchange your purchase. If you send us an e-mail we will send you a confirmation upon receiving your notice. Please always refer to your order number in you communication with us. You may wish to keep a copy of your cancellation notification for your own records.
— Refund relating to the right of withdrawal
If you choose to withdraw your purchase in accordance with the terms set forth in this section 11, Rumi Kunst Instituut will issue a refund of the amount paid to Rumi Kunst Instituut including the shipping cost you have paid for the delivery from Rumi Kunst Instituut to you. Rumi Kunst Instituut will pay the refund within 14 days of the date on which we have received your notice of withdrawal, under the condition that Rumi Kunst Instituut has received the product/s from you or if Rumi Kunst Instituut has obtained proof that the products have been sent back to Rumi Kunst Instituut. The refund is made using the same payment method you used at the purchase if you do not explicitly accept another method. You will not be charged extra if another payment method is used. Please note that Rumi Kunst Instituut only issues a full refund if the product/s is in the same conditions as at the time of delivery. If the products’ value has diminished due to your handling of the products to a greater extent than is necessary in order to ascertain its characteristics or function, you have an obligation to reimburse us. Thus, Rumi Kunst Instituut then has the right to withhold such amount of the refund. To avoid a deduction, please make sure the product you wish to refund is in the exact same condition as when you received them, with tag and seal still attached.
— Exchanges
Purchased products are exchangeable into a different size and color in accordance with the terms set forth in this section 11. All exchanges are based on stock availability. If you have exchanged a product, Rumi Kunst Instituut will pay the shipping costs for the new product. Please note that sale products are non-exchangeable but can be returned for a full refund.
— Shipping costs for returning the products
Please note that you must pay the shipping cost for returning the products in accordance with your right of withdrawal and exchange and Rumi Kunst Instituut has no obligation to pay such costs.
— Returning the products
Upon your withdrawal or exchange of your purchase, please return the product/s as soon as reasonably practicable but no later than 14 days after sending your notice.
When returning please contact hello@rumikunst.com with order number.
• Place the item(s) in the original shipping box, or any other solid carton box.
• Close the box and tape it securely.
• Ship the return with a carrier of your choice. For your safety, make sure to get a tracking number so that the carrier will refund you in the event of theft or loss during delivery to our warehouse.

If you receive defective products, please notify us immediately. According to the Civil Act you are entitled to complain about defective products within one year. However, you must always notify Rumi Kunst Instituut within a reasonable time after you have detected that the products are defective. If Rumi Kunst Instituut consider the products to be defective, Rumi Kunst Instituut will make a full refund including shipping costs.
